Cookie Policy
This page explains what cookies and similar technologies DawForge uses, and how you can control them. For the broader picture of how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They let the site remember who you are, keep you signed in, and — with your permission — measure how the site is used. Similar technologies such as localStorage serve comparable purposes.
2. Categories we use
Strictly necessary
Required to run the Service. You cannot opt out of these without breaking core functionality. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and Article 129(2) of the Belgian Electronic Communications Act.
- Authentication cookies set by our identity provider (Clerk) to keep you signed in and protect against CSRF.
- UI preferences stored in
localStorage— for example, whether the sidebar is expanded. - Error monitoring via Sentry. When something breaks, Sentry receives a crash report so we can fix it. We do not enable session replay and do not use Sentry for analytics or behavioural tracking. We treat this as strictly necessary for the security and stability of the Service.
- Cookie consent state stored in a
df_consentcookie set on the.dawforge.comparent domain, so your choice is remembered once and applies across every DawForge site — this website, the app, docs, forum and store — rather than asking again on each one. - Bot protection via Cloudflare Turnstile on the newsletter subscribe form. Turnstile is privacy-preserving and does not track you across sites; where it sets a short-lived security cookie, it is solely to validate that the form submission is human. We treat this as strictly necessary to prevent automated abuse.
Analytics (consent required)
Help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. Set only after you give consent. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 129 Belgian Electronic Communications Act).
- PostHog (
eu.i.posthog.com) — pseudonymous event tracking: page views, sign-ups, map creations, purchases. Retained up to 12 months. No session replay.
External media (consent required)
Lets us embed third-party content — currently product demo videos — directly in the page. Loaded only after you give consent, and (for the consent gate) only for visitors in the EEA and UK. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 129 Belgian Electronic Communications Act).
- YouTube (Google,
youtube-nocookie.com) — when you choose to load an embedded video, YouTube receives your IP address and may set cookies to deliver the video and remember playback preferences. Until you consent, the video is replaced by a placeholder and nothing is requested from Google. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode.
Advertising
None. We do not set advertising cookies and we do not sell your data.
3. Third-party pages
Parts of the checkout and account flows are hosted by Stripe and Clerk. When you interact with those pages, the respective provider may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
4. Managing cookies
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time — — and your updated choice applies across every DawForge site. The same “Manage cookies” control is available in the footer of the app, docs and forum. You can also clear your browser's storage for dawforge.com. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies per-site. Doing so for the strictly-necessary category will sign you out and may prevent parts of the Service from working.
